IPCall's service :

Receive CALLS FREE via IP

Free Washington state phone number to your Internet phone.

We don't sell equipment or service, there is no charge for registering or for connecting your calls to IP, and we do NOT provide any customer service.
Here’s how it works:

   1. Register your SIP IP phone with a VoIP service like www.FreeWorldDialup.com or www.MutualPhone.com. Once you register your IP phone with their VoIP Network, you are able to contact all of the other registered members if they are on-line when you are. These services provide an external SIP contact address like 612@fwd.pulver.net . If you don't have a Sip IP Telephone: Costs vary from $75 to $300. You can get an SIP IP Gateway such as the CISCO 182 for 2 lines for about $150, CISCO ATA-186, or similar gateway (prices may vary). www.VoipSupply.com You can also utilize your PC with MS Messenger by using a head set or using speakers, a microphone and a sound card.

   2. After you receive your SIP address, register that number at IpKall, and you will be assigned a local number in Washington State. Give out your Washington state number to friends, family, business associates, and others around the world. Using this number, they can call you for the cost of a domestic call and you will receive the call through your IP telephone device anywhere in the world.

Top Free PBXs

TOP Free PBXs

Asterisk
http://www.asterisk.org
Asterisk® is a complete IP PBX in software. It runs on a wide variety of operating systems including Linux, Mac OS X, OpenBSD, FreeBSD and Sun Solaris and provides all of the features you would expect from a PBX including many advanced features that are often associated with high end (and high cost) proprietary PBXs. Asterisk® supports Voice over IP in many protocols, and can interoperate with almost all standards-based telephony equipment using relatively inexpensive hardware.

Free PBX

http://www.freepbx.org
FreePBX is a Standardised Implementation of Asterisk that gives you a GUI to manage your system. If you’ve looked into Asterisk, you’d know that it doesn’t come with any ‘built in’ programming. You can’t plug a phone into it and make it work without editing configuration files, writing dialplans, and various messing about. FreePBX simplifies this by giving you a pre-written set of dialplans that allow you to have a fully functional PBX pretty much straight away.

TrixBox
http://www.trixbox.org/
trixbox is a telephony application platform based on Asterisk™ Open Source PBX Software. The trixbox application platform makes it fast and simple to install and configure your business-class telephony system. With unlimited extensions, voicemail-to-email, music on hold, call parking, analog lines or high density T1/E1 circuits and many other features, trixbox provides all the functionality your business needs. trixbox brings big business PBX features to small and medium-sized businesses.

SipX - Free IP PBX
http://www.sipfoundry.org/sipXpbx/
sipX is the leading open source IP PBX in terms of scalability, robustness and ease of use. The sipX IP PBX has been successfully deployed in a lot of places. The largest known installation serves more than 5,000 users connected to one redundant (HA) system. Small installations go all the way down to a few users served by very low cost hardware.

Free VoIP (FWD) free world dial up

Written by voipguy on Thursday, May 3rd, 2007 in All Blog Articles, Free VoIP.

Free VoIP (FWD) free world dial up

FWD Free VOIP

FWD enables anyone with a broadband connection to communicate over the Internet, whether it be instant messaging, voice, or video.

What is FWD?

FWD allows you to talk over the Internet to other FWD users with any broadband connection . . . for free! To get started quickly, you can download Pulver.Communicator or any number of free soft-phones. If you want to get a little adventurous, you can use a “plain old telephone” with an IP adapter or even an IP based phone.

To get started easily, follow this handy Quick Start Guide.

FWD is more than just free phone calls. FWD is a complete IP communications network.
Instant Messaging

Send and receive IMs from other FWD and SIP-enabled contacts as well as buddies using the most popular IM networks including AOL, Yahoo!, MSN, Google Talk, Skype, and ICQ.
Voice

FWD is dedicated to providing reliable Voice-over-IP (VoIP) connectivity to all of its users.
Video

Broadcast video to SIP-enabled contacts via webcam and receive webcam video from those contacts as well. No specific webcam configuration is required (provided both parties have a webcam configured and connected to their computer system).
Presence

Let people discover when you're online, offline, or away from your computer.
Want more?

FWD offers the largest number of advanced features, for free, including: Voice Mail, CallerID, Call Waiting, Multiple Presence and a whole lot more. It's hard to describe the FWD experience in just a few words but for those who love to experiment with communications it’s the ideal way to move ForWarD into the world of IP communications!

Features
Instant Messaging

Send and receive IMs from other FWD and SIP-enabled contacts as well as buddies from existing IM clients. Import your buddy lists from AOL, Yahoo, MSN, Google Talk, Skype, and ICQ. Include all the functionality of your online presence, current online status, smileys, and buddy properties.
Voice

The FWD network is dedicated to providing reliable Voice-over-IP (VoIP) connectivity to all its users.
Video

Broadcast video to SIP-enabled contacts via webcam and receive webcam video from those contacts as well. Works with all standard webcam configurations as well as video enabled phones such as the Vizufon CIP 5500.
Access Numbers

Use FWD to make toll free call using special access numbers. You can also call in from the PSTN (public switched telephone network) to FWD by dialing specific service provider numbers.
Toll Free Services

We at FWD believe in Metcalfe's law and that the more nodes that can connect the better. If you run an IP based voice network and would like to peer with FWD, or if you would like to help us extend our ability to offer "toll-free / freephone" dialing around the world, please see our peering page below.

Services such as US 800's numbers are specific to a calling area. For example if you are in France you can not call a US 800 number, but through FWD these countries and their Toll Free Access Numbers are reachable.

To dial a toll free number:
You must dial the prefix listed in the table below and then dial the number itself. The table is organized by country. For example, in order to dial the US toll free number 1-800-555-8355, you must dial *18005558355 or ***18005558355.

Call Toll Free to   Dial Prefix
USA    *18XX or ***18XX (depending on the toll free extension)
Netherlands   *31800
UK   *44800, *44500, *44808
Norway   *47800
Germany   *49800, *49130

Note: The toll free service works for most numbers, but occasionally, some locations cannot be reached. If you dial a number that cannot be reached, please let us know by e-mailng us. The problem is due to the routing/reach of our partners. We are aware that there are occasionally 'holes' in connecting these numbers (sometimes only transiently), as we get more 'donations' of connectivity we can plug these holes. There is a also a limit to the length of these calls.
Third Party Inbound to FWD

You can dial in from the PSTN to FWD by dialing the numbers provided by these service providers.

Call other Networks

We at FWD believe in Metcalfe's law and that the more nodes that can connect the better. FWD allows you to connect to any of our VoIP partners by using prefix access codes.
Dial from FWD to a peering partner

To dial to a peering partner you must first dial the access code listed below, and then the number itself. For example, if you have a packet8 buddy whose number is 1-408-687-4120, you would dial **898114086874120.
Dial from a peering partner to FWD

If you are on another network and you want to dial an FWD buddy, you must dial the prefix listed in the table below based on the partner you are calling from, and then the FWD number. So, for example if you are on packet8 and want to call the welcome line on FWD, 55555, you would dial 035155555.

Conference Calls

At this time, the FWD service does not support conference calling through provisioned numbers and pins. FWD does offer a conference calling service via our software client FWD.Communicator. If you'd like to make a conference call through FWD, we recommend downloading and installing FWD.Communicator. You can then set up your conference call using this software.
White Pages: Directory Services

FWD offers a robust, searchable, configurable White Page style directory to all FWD users. All FWD users are listed in the White Page Directory. The entire FWD community can make use of it and it is only available to the FWD user base.
Voicemail

FWD provides users the option to send and receive voicemail messages. Your voicemail is not activated when you sign up for FWD. Subscribers can create, delete and recreate their voicemail account whenever they choose.
Presence Status and Icons

FWD also allows users to let friends, family, or even the entire world see when they are online with simple status icons and indicators.

Simply copy and paste the following html code on any webpage, replacing the userid with your FWD number.

Quick Start Guide
Using an IP Phone

   1. First things, do you already have an IP Phone and is it FWD certified?
          * Yes, I do! (skip to step 2)
          * No, I want to use my computer.
          * No, take me to the FWD store, I want to purchase an FWD Certified IP Phone.
   2. Ok now that you've got a phone, we need to get it connected to the Internet and the FWD network.
          * For FWD certified products, configuration guides specific to your product are available on our FWD Products listing.
          * FWD Standard Configuration Settings:
                o Username: FWD Number
                o Password: FWD Password
                o Domain: fwd.pulver.com
                o SIP Proxy: fwd.pulver.com:5060
o STUN server: stun.fwdnet.net:3478 (Phone must be STUN enabled)
                o OR
                o Outbound Proxy: fwdnat.pulver.com:5082
                o Listen RTP Port: 8000
                o Listen SIP Port: 5060
          * Did we just really confuse you? Answers to any questions you might have can be found in our knowledgebase or forums.
   3. Ok, so let's test your phone out . . .
          * Dial 613 to perform an Echo Test. This just let's us see if you can hear somebody on the other end and if you can hear yourself being "echoed" back.
          * Another test you can perform is the Call Me Test. You can log into my.FWD and use the Call Me feature to see if your phone rings. If it rings, it means someone can connect properly to you.

Google Talk is Google's instant communications service.  Like Gmail, Google's free webmail service, Google Talk uses Google's innovative technologies to help people communicate more effectively and efficiently.  This means Google Talk is fast, intuitive and fun to use.

It also means you can start thinking about instant communications in a new way.  Google Talk offers you different ways to integrate real time communications into your online experience.  The Google Talk Gadget lets you see who's online and send instant messages from your Google Personalized Homepage, without installing any software.  You can also add the same instant messaging capabilities to your own webpage or blog by cutting and pasting a single line of code.  And by downloading the Google Talk Client, you can make voice calls and transfer files to your friends.

And if you use Gmail, Google Talk offers you even more.  You'll find all of your Gmail contacts organized in your Talk contacts list.  Gmail also archives all of your Google Talk chats and makes them searchable.  And since Google Talk is integrated into Gmail, you'll be able to chat with all your Talk contacts there, too.

1. What does Google Talk do?

Google Talk is an instant communications service that enables you to quickly and easily send instant messages or make PC-to-PC voice calls to your friends for free. There are two ways to use Google Talk. You can add the Google Talk Gadget to your Google Personalized Homepage to see your contacts list and IM your friends on your Google homepage. You can also download the Google Talk Client, which you can use to high quality make PC-to-PC voice calls and transfer files to your friends.

2. What is the Google Personalized Homepage?

The Google Personalized Homepage lets you gather all the information that's important to you from Google and across the web into one place. You can add gadgets for Gmail and Google Calendar, as well as modules you pick showing news feeds, pictures and videos.

3. What is the difference between the Google Talk Gadget and the Google Talk Client?

The Google Talk Gadget is a web-based tool for instant messaging, so it requires no download (as long as you have Flash Player 8.0 or above installed). You can add it to your Google Personalized Homepage to see your contacts and send instant messages alongside other content that is important to you.

The Google Talk Client requires a 1.5MB download, and does not run in your browser. You can use the Google Talk Client to make free, high quality PC-to-PC voice calls, and transfer unlimited files. If you are running the client in the background, you can also make voice calls from the Google Talk Gadget.

4. How do I preview videos and photos in my chats?

You can preview videos from YouTube or Google Video and photos from Picasa Web Albums by pasting a URL from these sites into your chat and sending. The gadget will recognize the URL as a video or photo, and enable you to view them inside your conversation.

5. How do I add the Google Talk Gadget to my own webpage or blog?

You can add the Google Talk Gadget to your webpage or blog by pasting a single line of code into your site's HTML. You'll find the code and directions on how to install it here. Remember that your visitors will need to have Google Talk usernames, or sign up for one, and will be able to chat with their contacts as usual - the gadget doesn't offer chatroom functionality for your site. Tip: when you add the gadget to your site, post your own username alongside it and tell your visitors to sign up and add your name as a contact. This way, you can start chatting with your visitors.

6. How does Google Talk work with Gmail?

If you're signing into Google Talk with a Gmail account, your Gmail contacts are pre-loaded and the people you communicate with most often will show up in your Google Talk Friends list. In addition, Gmail will archive your Google Talk chats (see below).

7. Can I save my Google Talk chat histories?

If you're using Google Talk with a Gmail account, yes, you can save your chat histories to your Gmail account, and access them from the "Chats" label or find them via search. Your chats will be saved if you are using the gadget, the client or Gmail chat. Your saved chats become just like Gmail messages–you can view them, forward them, print them or delete them. Never worry about losing something important from your chats again. Learn more.

8. How do I make voice calls?

You can make free PC-to-PC voice calls using the Google Talk Client from anywhere in the world to anywhere in the world . You can also make calls from the gadget when you are running the client in the background. Calls are made through your computer using the latest voice technology; all you need is an Internet connection, a microphone and a speaker. If you don't have a speaker or built-in microphone, you may want to consider buying a headset, which will also provide the best voice quality when using Google Talk.

When you download and use Google Talk, you're actually connected to the group of users on the Google Talk network. Because Google Talk supports open standards, Google Talk users can also talk with users of other service providers that support open standards. So you can talk with more people, and not just ones who download Google Talk. We're hoping the list of service providers that support open standards will continue to grow, and that more and more users around the world will be able to talk to each other while still getting to use the service of their choice.

9. Is Google Talk available in other languages and countries?

Yes, in addition to US English, the Google Talk Client is available in these language interfaces: UK English, Dutch, French, German, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Portuguese, Russian, Spanish, Turkish and simplified and traditional Chinese. The Google Talk Gadget is available only in US English, but can be added to any version of the Google Personalized Homepage.

10. Can I talk with my friends who use other IM services like AOL?

We support open standards, so Google Talk users can also talk with users of other service providers that support open standards.

11. What system requirements do I need to use Google Talk?

The Google Talk Gadget will work in most browsers - read the Personalized Homepage help article for a complete list. You'll need to install the free Adobe Flash Player (version 8+) in your browser. Because the Talk gadget is embedded into your browser, it's platform independent - it works on Windows, Mac, and Linux.

To use the Google Talk Client, you need Windows 2000, Windows XP (Home & Pro), Windows Vista, or Windows Server 2003. You'll also need a minimum 56k dial up connection, but a broadband connection is recommended. To make voice calls, you'll need a microphone and speakers (for optimal voice quality, we recommend using a headset). Google Talk works with any computer speaker and microphone, such as the ones built into many PC laptops today, as well as with wired and wireless headsets and USB phones. We've created a list of recommended accessories for the best Google Talk experience.

The downloadable Google Talk client is not compatible with Macintosh or Linux systems at this time.

Google Talk also supports standards-based communication clients, which means that Gmail users can access the Google Talk service and exchange instant messages using other clients that support the standard XMPP protocol, such as Trillian, GAIM, iChat, Adium, and Psi. This allows users to access the Google Talk service for instant messaging from all major platforms, including OSX, Linux, and Windows.
12. Do I see ads when I use Google Talk?

We aren't showing any ads on Google Talk. There are no pop-ups or clutter—just a clean and simple interface to make it easy for you to communicate instantly with your friends.

13. Can you tell me more about Google Talk and privacy?

Google respects and protects the privacy of individuals that use our services. Google Talk gives you control over whom you talk with, whom you block, and who can see your online status. Additionally, Google only requires minimal personal information–just your name and email address–for you to use Google Talk.

Google Talk currently does not encrypt chats or calls. But we are working hard to make many improvements to Google Talk while it is in beta, and we plan to fully support encryption of chats and calls before our official release.

When you use Google Talk, you can save your chat histories in your Gmail account for searching and accessing later. This feature is on by default, but can be changed at any time from "Settings" in either Google Talk or Gmail. When you're chatting, you can also go "off the record" if you don't want a particular chat, or chats with a specific person, to be automatically saved in either person's Gmail account. No existing IM client offers this level of user privacy protection (although this feature does not prevent the person you're chatting with from manually saving your chats, such as by cutting and pasting. Also, the feature is available only if both you and the other person are using the Google Talk client, Gmail's chat features, or a third-party client that enables this feature.)

As with all major IM services, Google Talk will collect certain log information created in the course of a conversation. This information is for Google's internal use only, to maintain statistics on usage and to improve our service and the user experience. We do not permanently store any personally-identifying information in the Google Talk logs.

In keeping with our industry-leading Software Principles, you have complete control over the installation and removal of Google Talk. Periodically, Google Talk contacts our servers to see if you're running the most current version of the application. If necessary, we'll automatically provide you with the latest update to Google Talk so you can stay current and secure.

For more details, please review the Google Talk Privacy Policy. If you have thoughts you'd like to share with us on Google Talk and privacy, please let us know.

14. What do I do if I need help with using Google Talk?

15. How do I uninstall the Google Talk Client?

To uninstall Google Talk:

   1. Click the 'Start' menu, and highlight 'Settings.'
   2. Select 'Control Panel.’
   3. Open 'Add or Remove Programs.’
   4. Highlight 'Google Talk’ in the list of programs currently installed on your computer.
   5. Click 'Remove.’

16. What new features are you working on?

We could tell you, but then you'd have to promise to not talk about it… Joking aside, Google Talk is still in beta, and we're working hard to add features and make improvements. We're just not quite ready yet to reveal the other cool things we've got planned.

But we want to keep making Google Talk better and we want your ideas and feedback to help make this happen! Talk to us using the Help link in the Google Talk interface. Let us know what you like, what you don't like, and what you'd really like.

17. Can you tell me more about Google Talk's commitment to open standards and user choice?

We believe that you should have a choice in how you communicate with your friends, that you shouldn't have to use one service because that's where you keep your contacts and other information. We launched free auto-forwarding and POP access for Gmail so our users could take their messages with them and use any service they want, and we're committed to upholding this idea of user choice for Google Talk as well. Today, with instant communications, you can't talk to your contacts or buddies in one service while using another service. We hope to change that.

Google Talk supports open standards and is fully interoperable with other communications services that support the open server-to-server XMPP protocol. This means that users of any of these services can communicate directly with Google Talk users, and vice versa. Here is a list of just some of the service providers that already support this open industry standard.

While we hope many people will use and like the Google Talk client, we're also committed to making it as easy as possible for you to communicate with your friends using the client that you want–even if it doesn't happen to be ours. That's why we're also supporting open standards and the same protocol that clients such as Trillian, GAIM and iChat do. For more details, please visit our FAQ for developers.
